A magical tower on top of Yelm's Footstool
- It rises from the Ziggurat into the Sky World.
- It appears to be a decagonal shaft carved from Steadfast.
- Within it is a spiral staircase that allows access between the Footstool to the Kelastan, the Throne of Yelm.
- Worshipped as Ledareeshata.
- None but the Emperor dare try to ascend the Tower.
Mythology[]
- It was created when Yelm lowered the Staff of Justice from the Sky to the Earth.
- Murharzarm ascended the Tower of Imperial Splendor to complete the Ten Tests; the spiral staircase is mentioned then.
- Used by Khorventos and Ovosto for their enthronements.
- Kestinoros swore to overcome the Glacier when a chill wind blew in from the north while he was in the Tower.
History[]
- Jenarong visited the ruins of the Tower where he had a vision of the Ten Tests needed to become Emperor.
- Huradabba befouls a building called the Emperor's Tower; presumably it was built using the ruins as a foundation by Jenarong, Gerruskoger or Vuranostum.
- The tower itself returns when Avivath slew Emperor Huradabba (Plentonius calls it Yelm's Real Tower to distinguish it from the man-made Emperor's Tower); later a common legend is (recounted in the Fortunate Succession that it is the actual Sunspear that Avivath used.
- Dardaggus ignored the tower for his enthronement, Kerunebbe used it while Dagguneri summoned a cloud to hide it when he was enthroned.
- Khormesha the Sage stored the Cloak of Antirius in its Shaft of Light.
- It was besieged by Viramakradda in an unsuccessful attempt to get the Cloak of Antirius and finally used by Khordavu and subsequent emperors for their enthronement.
- Ordanestyu used it for his abdication
- After Desikanir was enthroned, there was fighting at the tower by the lords of the empire
