There are a dozen major races and many, perhaps thousands, of other races of intelligent creatures across Glorantha. This is part of what makes the setting so interesting. Although a lot of interest is also centered on the Geography and History of this world.

These races are divided into a few large groups:

• Major Races, including:
  • Elder Races, such as:
    • Aldryami (also known collequally as "Elves")
    • Mostali (also known collequally as "Dwarves")
    • Uz (known as "Trolls")
    • Dragonewts
  • Humans
  • Merfolk, such as the Ludoch or Malasp.

• Other races, some of the better documented are:
  • Beastmen (such as Centaurs or Minotaurs)
  • Durulz (also known as "Ducks")
  • Keets (nearly identical to Ducks)
  • Kitori (somewhat humanlike creatures of Darkness)
  • Timinits (a collection of humanoid-shaped insect people)

• And then there are many races of intelligent chaos creatures:
  • Broo
  • Ogres
  • Scorpionmen
